The Human Gaze & The 6/9 Problem is een muzikale voorstelling die mythes, poëzie, zang en beweging verweeft om de menselijke verwijdering van de natuur te verkennen. Terwijl bomen hun bladeren verliezen en mensen hun verstand, spreekt één stem zich uit op zoek naar hoop. Dit verhaal onderzoekt hoe menselijk gedrag de klimaatcrisis heeft gevormd en vraagt hoe we een nieuwe weg vooruit kunnen vinden.
Het nieuwstedelijk maakt deel uit van ‘Future Narratives for Planet Earth’ - een Europees netwerk van theaterhuizen die samenwerken om nieuwe verhalen te ontwikkelen over de relatie tussen mens en natuur. Het belangrijkste doel van het project is om de toekomst opnieuw te zien als een ruimte vol mogelijkheden. Binnen ‘Future Narratives’ worden 7 nieuwe theaterstukken gemaakt die in Leuven gepresenteerd worden op Shakespeare is dead.

The Human Gaze & The 6/9 Problem is a musical performance that interweaves myths, poetry, song, and movement to explore humanity’s disconnection from nature. As trees lose their leaves and people lose their minds, a single voice speaks out in search of hope. This story explores how human behaviour has shaped the climate crisis and wonders how we can find a new way forward.
Het nieuwstedelijk is part of “Future Narratives for Planet Earth” — a European network of theatre houses collaborating to develop new stories about the relationship between humans and nature. The project’s main goal is to reimagine the future as a space full of possibilities. Within “Future Narratives,” seven new theatre productions are being created, which will be presented in Leuven at Shakespeare is dead.
