The Human Gaze & The 6/9 Problem is een mythische muziekvoorstelling die het verleden, heden en de toekomst met elkaar verbindt in een cyclisch universum. Geïnspireerd door de Noorse mythologie, in het bijzonder de wereldboom Yggdrasil en Ragnarok, vertelt de productie over de relatie tussen mens en natuur, en de uitdagingen van de klimaatcatastrofe. De voorstelling beweegt zich tussen hopeloosheid en hoop, tussen het bewustzijn van menselijke vernietiging en de mogelijkheid van een nieuw begin. Deze grensverleggende productie combineert poëzie, zang, dans, muziek, soundscapes, videoprojectie en lichtontwerp.
Het nieuwstedelijk maakt deel uit van ‘Future Narratives for Planet Earth’ - een Europees netwerk van theaterhuizen die samenwerken om nieuwe verhalen te ontwikkelen over de relatie tussen mens en natuur. Het belangrijkste doel van het project is om de toekomst opnieuw te zien als een ruimte vol mogelijkheden. Binnen ‘Future Narratives’ worden 7 nieuwe theaterstukken gemaakt die in Leuven gepresenteerd worden op Shakespeare is dead.

The Human Gaze & The 6/9 Problem is a mythical music performance that connects the past, present, and future in a cyclical universe. Inspired by Nordic Mythology, especially The World Tree Yggdrasil and Ragnarok, it tells of the relationship between humans and nature and the challenges of climate catastrophe. The performance moves between hopelessness and hope, between awareness of human destruction and the possibility of a new beginning. This genre-mixing production features poetry, songs, dance, music, soundscapes, video projection and lighting design.
Het nieuwstedelijk is part of “Future Narratives for Planet Earth” — a European network of theatre houses collaborating to develop new stories about the relationship between humans and nature. The project’s main goal is to reimagine the future as a space full of possibilities. Within “Future Narratives,” seven new theatre productions are being created, which will be presented in Leuven at Shakespeare is dead.
